Mindfulness & Breath work |
Mindfulness can be an imitating word and concept. It can evoke many different thoughts and emotions, some negative and some positive. The reality is that it is about just noticing. Noticing and accepting where you are in the present moment. Over time, practicing this without fear and judgement of self. Mindfulness raises our awareness so we can meet fear with compassion, negativity with empathy and anxiety with a slow and steady breath. With this we biologically calm our nervous system and the fear area of the brain.
I have a strong background in practicing and teaching this mindfulness and breath work. I have been practicing yoga and mindfulness for the past 18 years, and became a certified yoga teacher at the 200-level through Yoga Alliance in 2010. I am also a certified Radiant Children's Yoga instructor. While I am not teaching yoga classes presently in the community, I do bring this knowledge and background to my therapeutic practice. Mindfulness and Breath Work are interwoven throughout all my treatments that I provide, as it is a foundation of many types of therapy and a proven biological and scientific way to calm the body.
