"life is a balance of holding on...and letting go"
updated July 12, 2020
I am excited to be transitioning back to work soon and look forward to checking in with those coming back to therapy. As a reminder, any decision you make about coming back to therapy is completely up to you! You may choose to make appointments again, stay with a new counselor, come back at a different time, or not come back to counseling at all.
I was disappointed to not finish up appointments, as I had hoped with you all, before my planned leave date last spring; but, I am happy to share that a healthy baby boy was born in April and is doing well. As I start to see clients again, there will be a few changes and any questions are welcomed.
I am in the processing of switching over my entire EHR platform/software to streamline information, offer on-line scheduling and client paperwork submissions, credit card payments and tele-health services. If you are interested in counseling, please let me know and I will send you an email to have you make your profile within the new system and schedule your appointments.
Tele-health will currently be my only method of providing treatment (no office visit appointments). This took a long time for me to come to terms with because I will miss seeing you all in person at the office and this is a great alternative to in person, and here is why this is the route we are going for now--
Is Tele-health video and audio or audio only?
Tele-health is video and audio, face-to-face or as if we were meeting together
Are sessions recorded?
No. I do not record sessions nor does the EHR platform I use.
Will EMDR and Play Therapy still be an option?
I am quickly learning and consulting on how to provide EMDR and play therapy services through tele-health, to be able to offer them when needed.
What are the technology requirements?
To use tele-health for your therapy, you will need a secure setting for the session that will ensure your privacy, and a computer with internet connection. The system is cloud based with point to point encryption which meets HIPAA criteria for privacy.
Can I do this on my phone?
Yes. Tele-health is supported on the latest versions of Google Chrome and Firefox on desktops/laptops and can be used on Android (Goggle Chrome, Firefox or the app) or iOS devices (Safari or app). You do not have to download or install any special software for our sessions. If you would like the mobile app, you can download it by searching for Telehealth by SimplePractice on your mobile device.
Is it confidential?
Tele-health through my new EHR platform is streamlined for you, making it easy to connect with HIPPA compliant video.
